Getting started
Set up your business details and prepare Easy Days Work for your first visit.
1. Complete your business profile
Open Settings → Business and add the details that should appear on customer documents:
- business name and address
- company number, if applicable
- VAT status and VAT number
- logo
If you take payment by bank transfer, add your BACS details under Settings → BACS payments. They appear on invoice PDFs.
2. Set your working pattern
In Settings → Visits, choose your working days and usual opening and closing times.
These settings guide automatic scheduling, morning and afternoon slots, and clash suggestions. They do not prevent you from manually booking outside those hours.
3. Create useful templates
Templates save repeated typing. Create a category, then add your common services with a name, visit description and default price.
4. Add a customer
Create a customer and confirm their main site, contact details and address. Commercial customers can have several sites.
For a one-off residential call-out, you can enter contact and site details directly while creating the visit without saving a customer first.
5. Book your first visit
Open Visits → New visit or select an empty slot in the Schedule. Choose the customer or one-off option, add the work description, then set the date, time and duration.
6. Capture extras as sales
If you spot extra work on a visit, or someone walks up without a customer record, log it as a Sale. Do not bury it in visit notes.
